ICVS - International Crime Victims Survey

Statistics

On the use of the statistics

This page presents key statistics from the industrialized countries, urban Europe and developing countries. The surveys in the industrialized countries have been national and therefore apply to countries. Since urbanisation is an important factor in crime, comparison with results from 'city surveys' should be done very carefully.

The data from 'urban Europe' are from the capital cities in Eastern Central Europe plus the cities larger than 100.000 inhabitants from the Western European surveys. The data from developing countries are all from capital cities.
